During my last week of college, instead of completely honing in on graduating, I decided to do a ten day game jam, the Pixel Game Jam – 2025. I reached out to my MAGD Expo award-winning friend Jack to do the pixel art, and I was not let down in the slightest.
One Man’s Trash is a card game in which all the cards were collected from a garage sale. One must use these cards to battle an opponent in order to win the coveted Carolin’ Carp.
At my last game jam, I really struggled to make a state machine fit for a card game. I think I made the last one way too complicated, but for this game jam, I scaled it down a bit. It appears to work way better!
I additionally wanted to do a modifier for this game jam- online multiplayer. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, you know, graduating and such.
One day I hope to get some online multiplayer going in a game of mine. In the meantime, I know I’ll be jammin’ out to One Man Trash’s hit Zclipse original track- Cool Deal.
